We hypothesize that the solution including carbon dioxide will have a higher rate of photosynthesis. Carbon dioxide is essential for the dark reactions of the process, and without it, photosynthesis cannot be carried out. For the inquiry section of the lab, we think the spinach will have a higher rate or photosynthesis.
The purpose of this lab is to explore the effects of certain factors of the rate of photosynthesis. In the first part of the lab we will explore the importance of carbon dioxide in this reaction. In the second part, we will compare the rate of this process of two different plants. In this investigation, we will connect and apply concepts we have learned in the past about the cell and the process of photosynthesis.
