education:
Texas: separate schools shall be provided for the white and colored children, and impartial provision shall be made for both.
indiana: the law requires separate schools for colored and white children.
West Virginia: white and colored persons shall not be taught in the same school.
South Carolina: separate schools shall be provided for children of the white and colored races, and no child of either race shall ever be permitted to attend a school for children of the other race.
Mississippi: separate schools shall be maintained for the children of the white and colored races.
public accomodations:
Mississippi: the marriage of a white person with a negro or mulatto or person who shall have one-eighth or more of negro blood, shall be unlawful and void.
tennessee: nothing herein contained shall be construed as interfering with the existing rights to provide separate accommodations and seats for colored and white persons at such places.
arkansas: the law requires the white and colored races be segregated in seating, betting, and all other accommodations at racetracks or gaming establishments.
North Carolina: the state librarian is directed to fit up and maintain a separate place for the use of the colored people who may come to the library for the purpose of reading books of periodicals.
oklahoma: buses: every bus or transportation company, corporation, individual, lessee, manager, or receiver thereof, doing business in this state as a common carrier of passengers for hire between fixed termini, shall provide separate compartments, as hereinafter provided, for the accommodation of the white and negro races, which separate compartments shall be equal in points of comfort and convenience.
Virginia: buses: all motor vehicles carriers of passengers operating under the provisions of this chapter shall separate the white and colored passengers in their motor vehicles and set apart and designate in each motor vehicle a portion thereof or certain seats therein to be occupied be a colored passengers.
South Carolina: buses: all passenger motor vehicle carriers, operating in the state of South Carolina shall separate the white and colored passengers in their motor buses and set apart and designate in each bus or other vehicle, a portion thereof, or certain seats therein, to be occupied by white passengers, and a portion thereof, or certain seats therein, to be occupied by colored passengers.
