Cable-Stayed Bridge

Sunshine Skyway Bridge-
The Sunshine Skyway Bridge is a Cable-Stayed Bridge located in Tampa bay, Florida. It is a total of 21,877 feet long. This bridge currently stands where an older bridge stood. In 1982, the building of this bridge started. It was completed in February of 1987. The gross value of this bridge is $244 million.
In 1980, a large truck collided with one of the concrete support structures. This forced the beginning construction of the new, replacement bridge.
In 2005, much after the replacment bridge was built, it was named. Named in honor of the Governor of Florida, the Bob Graham Sunshine Skyway Bridge was born.
