A symbol from Urashima Taro was the princess that the fisherman married. She was a symbol of desire. She symbolized desire, because she was wealthy and had everything the fisherman wanted. The princess is vital to the story, because the fisherman had to learn that you can't have everything, and that he should've listened to her when she said not to open the box.
