Sal's grams and gramps take Sal to Idaho.
Through their travels from Ohio to Idaho, because of Sal's stories, readers of Walk two Moons really find out what happened.
Sal had received postcards from her mother as she traveled by bus to Idaho. So, Gramps follows the same route. Along the way, though, Gramps and Grams want to hit a few vacation spots. They visit The Badlands and the Black Hills where Grams dances with the Indians, as Sal and her Indian mother prefer to call them; they visit Yellowstone where Grams tries to sneak a closer look at Old Faithful, and they cool off in a river where Grams gets bitten by a snake and Sal meets a boy.
“You never know the worth of water until the well is dry.”
But, what happens to Grams? Do they make it to Idaho to see Sal's mom? And, who is leaving mysterious notes outside phoebe's house? Sal's stories continue.
Gramps drives, Grams asks questions, and Sal tells stories of her adventures in Euclid, Ohio, with Phoebe.
