THE MICROSCOPE

🔹Eyepiece: the lens nearest the eye. It usually has the magnification marked on it

🔹Coarse focus knob: brings the object roughly into focus

🔹Fine focus knob: brings the object precisely into focus (some microscopes may not include this)

🔹Nosepiece: allows use of different lenses located on the feature by being able to revolve

🔹Objective Lens: located on the nosepiece, each lens has a different magnification. The total magnification is found by multiplying the power of the eyepiece by the objective lens being used

🔹Stage: the object that is being viewed must be placed in the centre of the stage

🔹Clip: attached to the stage, it holds the object being examined in place

🔹Mirror: used to reflect light onto the object being examined. This helps to see the the object more clearly.
