South Asia:
• Indian Sub-Continent- a wedged shaped peninsular that extends into the Indian Ocean
• Monsoons- seasonal winds that regularly blow from a certain direction for part of the year
• monsoons bring rain in the summer and dry air in the winter
• Not enough rain = crops failure
• Too much rain = rivers rise and bring floods

• The Deccan Plateau
• The Tibetan Plateau- "roof of the world"
• The Thar Dessert- great Indian dessert
