The Kiss - Edvard Munch

Describe- the dark colored artwork shows two figures kissing and hugging each other.

Analyze- there are two dark clothes figures who are kissing each other. The artwork looks like a bunch of lines and edge lines that horizontal in the foreground and vertical in the background. The only light part of the painting is the back left corner. The couples faces are the same color and blend together. Their clothing also blends in with the area around it.

Interpret- I think that since the colors of the couples faces are the same and since they blend together that that shows that people can become one person if they love each other enough. I also think that since they blend in with the background it means that they are blind and oblivious to the world because it's like they are a part of it. And I think that little piece of light color in the top left corner is the couples only tie to reality. I think they are so lost in each other that they are oblivious to the rest of the world.
