POLYMERASE CHAIN REACTION
The primer, loose nucleotides, and polymerase are all mixed into with the DNA, so the primer can be created to be the exact starting point of the target sequence. This is why the cycle must be completed at least three times... Each time eliminates part of the unneeded area due to what is replicated based on where the primer attaches. Over multiple cycles, more and more molecules exactly match the target sequence. Five cycles would be performed in total to find copies of the oxytocin and vasopressin’s receptor genes.
