Purposes

Lipids

Proteins

Nucleic Acid

Carbohydrates

The 3 primary purposes of the carbohydrates: carbs provide an energy supply to cells, they are used for structural support, and they are used for cell recognition (differentiate from a virus and energy source).

A protein's function in the body is to support/give structure, enable movement between cells for communication and transportation, and, perhaps most importantly, are necessary for chemical reactions in the body (e.g. Enzymes).

Lipids are used in the body to store excess energy; the stored energy us saved in our body as fat (lipids). They are also used to enable water movement in the body and cells.

Nucleic acids, since they carry either DNA or RNA, are used in the body to pass on genetic/hereditary information.
