What is a desert?
A desert is a dry often sandy region that has very little rainfall, extreme temperatures, and very little vegetation.
There is less than 15 cm rainfall a year in a desert.
20% of the earth is covered by deserts.
Temperatures can reach over 100 degrees F in the day and drop to 45 at night.
