The Parthenon is a cultural artifact that was dedicated to the Greek Goddess, Athena. It was built in Athens, on top of the mountain, Athenian Acropolis, 447 B.C. The goddess Athena was considered the patron if Athens and that is why they built it for her. on top of the mountain, Athenian Acropolis. The Greeks were very religious people and that is why they built this great structure for one of their Goddesses.

There are no pictures of this statue because it was destroyed in 500 A.D. by a fire. It was made around 435 B.C. by a Greek sculptor named Phidias inside The Temple of Zeus. The Greeks were very artistic and religious which is why they sculpted a statue of Zeus at Olympia.
