Barbara Jordan

She opened a law practice and worked from her parents house for 3 years before she could afford an office.

-taught at Tuskegee Institute for a year.
-registered black voters for the 1960 presidential campaign
-state senator
-professor at the LBJ School of Public Affairs

Great speaker- she had great diction and a loud voice that made for great speeches

Persevering- she ran twice for senate and failed then won the third time/ first black woman to be a state senate

She helped a lot with African Americans ability ti vote- she registered them for the voting in 1960.
