By the time of the twentieth century, tattoos were now used to mark people as inferior, along with other changes to ones body such as body piercings and the new fad of plastic surgery. Soldiers, housewives, sports stars, rappers, and pop stars all began getting everything from a belly button piercing, to eyebrows, even tongue rings.
