Symptoms of Down syndrome for facial features can include: Flattened facial features, small head, short neck, protruding tongue, upward slanting eyes which is unusual in children, unusually shaped ears. Children may also have: poor muscle tone, broad short hands with a single crease in the palm, relatively short fingers, and excessive flexibility.
Infants can be born of normal size but tend to grow slowly and remain shorter.
