HIPPO
Habitat Loss : Habitat destruction is the process in which natural habitat is rendered functionally unable to support the species present . In this process, the organisms that previously used the site are displaced or destroyed , reducing biodiversity .
Example : A flood destroyed this
habitat , it washed away soil , &
torn down trees .
Pollution : Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural environment that cause adverse change . Pollution can take the form of chemical substances or energy , such as noise , heat or light .
Example: Factories that burn fuels & other
items produce toxic gases that destroy the
biome & environment .
Invasive species : Invasive species , also called invasive exotics or simply exotics , is a nomenclature term and categorization phrase used for flora and fauna , and for specific restoration-preservation processes in native habitats , with several definitions .
Example : The Asian swamp eel is an
invasive species , it has no adaptation to
the native biome like the other 2 eels .
