The country had a long and hard recovery process as the Khemur Rouge never left, but rather tried to resist the reforming government, The group eventually crumbled, its members scattered in Cambodia or in Vietnam. This also ended the tension between Vietnam and Cambodia and brought the countries back to peace. Cambodia brought back its old ways and religions and has turned many important sites into tourist attractions, including the final home and resting place of Pol Pot. The country has turned around and made the best of such devastation, the government stronger and unwilling to be overtaken.
