November 2, 1963 Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Ngo Dinh Diem, the president of South Vietnam, was assassinated leading to a celebration of the people. This also led to chaos in the South Vietnamese government, causing the U.S. to get more involved to try to stop the communists.
