What Happened?
-Göring attempted to assume Hitlers powers in accordance with the pronouncements of 1939. Hitler took it as an act of treason, stripping Göiring of his offices and titles, then placed him under house arrest. While awaiting trial as a war criminal. Göring finally was able to break free from his morphine addiction and defend himself before International Military Tribuhal at Nuremburg. A year and a half after Hitler's commit to suicide, göring took his own life by swallowing a cyanamide capsule in his cell(October 15, 1946).
