The capital of Costa Rica is San José. It is located in the Central Valley region of Costa Rica. As of the year 2013, there is a population of about 4.872 million people living here. 94 percent of the population is white. For the rest of the population, 3 percent are black, and the other 3 percent consist of Amerindian, Chinese, and other ethic groups.
