If left untreated you can cause harm not only to yourself but to your unborn child as well. Doctors recommend you start treatment at soon as possible when having gestational diabetes.
Start a special meal plan.
Daily blood glucose testing and insulin injections.
Stay active but don't over work yourself.
Monitor sugar and baby.

Before meal (preprandial): 95mg or less
1hour after meal: (postprandial) 140mg/dl or less
2hours after meal: 120mg/dl or less.
