Gestational diabetes
Gestational diabetes is a disease that is commonly found in pregnant women. Gestational diabetes is caused when insulin receptors do not function properly. Your body doesn't allow it's self to produce and use all the insulin your body needs during your pregnancy.if glucose builds up in the blood the women's blood level can begin to rise in other words (hyperglycemia) which means excess of glucose in the blood stream. Women who have never had diabetes in their life can end up having gestational diabetes threw out their pregnancy. The percentage of women who have this disease is usually between 20-60 %if left untreated a lot of complications can happen to the mother and her fetus.
