Anne's last diary passage was on August 1, 1944.

August 4, 1944 the secret annex was found by a group of German police. Anne and others were questioned and kept overnight. Days following they were moved to a transit camp.

They were thought of as criminals and had to do hard labor because they were caught hiding.
