-Many stars and constellations bear labels from old Greek mythologies

-for example Andromeda is one of the Greek constellations.

Origin of Stars

- form when clumps of gas and dust contract to much smaller sizes

-as more matter falls into the clump, the center heats up and forms a protostar.

-once it is hot enough it's hydrogen atoms begin to fuse, this produces helium and an outflow of energy.

- finally the star stabilizes and it reaches it's point where it's output ford exceeds it's input.

-hydrogen fusion counteracts gravity's inward pull on the star and it will continue to burn until it runs out of fuel.
