Plants

Because of the long winters many plants can't live there, however pine, white spruce, hemlock, and douglas fir (coniferous trees) use long, thin, and waxy needles for protection against the cold. They keep their needles year-long so that they can start photosynthesis as soon as it gets warm. The thin coniferous trees stay close together to protect themselves from the wind and cold. They are also cone shaped so that the snow won't stick to the trees and instead falls off. Lynx, wolverines, bobcat, and minks are mainly the animals found here.
