Structure
Chloroplast is surrounded by two membranes. Inside are large stacks of other membranes which contain the green pigment chlorophyll. Like mitochondria, chloroplasts contain their own genetic information id the form of small DNA molecules.

Function
Chloroplasts capture energy from sunlight and convert it into chemical energy through the process of Photosynthesis.
