Myrtle Wilson- Married, but lover of Tom Buchanan. Myrtle represents of the lower class. Her affair with Tom she gains entrance into the world of high class, and the change in her personality is great. She has a secret life with Tom, where she has all the power and dominance she finds lacking in her everyday life. She eventually suffers a tragic end at the hands of her lover's wife.

George Wilson- a very unassuming husband. He runs a garage and gas station in the valley of ashes. Eventually, he finds out about his wife's double life and his response helps drive her to her death. Completely upset at what happens.
