Native Americans in The Army.

WWII also prompted an exodus of Native Americans from reservations.
Thousands of Indian men and women found work in cities and thousands more joined the army.
Around twenty-five thousand Native American men served in the armed forces. Their primary job was to transmit tactical information over telephone and radio.
Comanches in the European front and Navajos in the Pacific made valuable contributions as "code talkers," as their native language was incomprehensible to the Germans and the Japanese.
During the invasion of Iwo Jima, six Navajo Code Talkers were operating continuously. They sent more than 800 messages. All of the messages were transmitted without error.
