・Ross Lawrence joined the military due to his past dislike for Indians. Because of his great performance during the years he served, he earned a great reputation and was elected citizen of McLennan county.
・He was a lieutenant/captain of the Waco Company in 1860, brigadier general and commanded the Texas Calvary Brigade in 1863, sherif of McLennan county in 1873, state Senate in 1880, and president of organization in 1886-1891.
・strong- fought in the army for a long period of time; smart- was able to run the state and help our country with his ideas and time in office.
・He helped shape our state, as he helped write the Constitution of 1876. During his time in office was known as terms of good will and harmony.
