Ice Age

An ice age is period of extreme freezing temperatures. These temperatures caused the creation of massive glaciers that covered the entire Earth. The last ice age to occur on Earth occurred 10,000-11,000 years ago. During this time mammoths, saber-toothed tigers, mastodons, and giant ground sloths roamed the Earth. The ice age changed the earth and carved out great valleys, and created lakes, rivers, and many other landforms that you see today.
