Buddhism vs. Daoism
The two major religions in China now go head to head as we discover the reason as to why Buddhism is still WAY better than Daoism!
-In Buddhism people must follow the teachings of the Buddah- since he is the founder of the religion, but in Daoism- they have to follow the Dao itself.
-The "Dao" is basically one's reconciliation with nature.
-In Buddhism- the basis and goal of the religion is no to be at one with nature, but instead reach enlightenment and escape death and the cycle of rebirth. Now compared to the Daoist belief of trying to be at one with nature, don't you think that defeating the cycle of Rebirth and escaping death to reach Nirvana is much better? Oh- you like the epic ness of trying to escape death and reaching Nirvana a lot more cooler and better than trying to be at oneness with nature? Well join Buddhism- you know you want to!
-Also once a buddhist has defeated the cycle of Rebirth (Samsara), then they can reach Nirvana which is a place of peace and rest, while in the afterlife of the Dao- the Daoist becomes a spirit walker and can travel through space.
-Although Daoist belief of space may be different from today's understanding of space, it still sounds pretty lame to keep on walking through space. Would you rather be a "Space-Walker" or be in a state of rest and peace? Oh you'd prefer the state of rest and peace over being a "Space-Walker?" Good choice.
