-The Tuscania was an ocean liner that was transporting American soldiers to Europe. The boat was torpedoed by a German U boat and killed about 210 people.
-This photo depicts the fact that these bodies had to be buried where they were found and the only thing that marked their burial site was a white cross.
- This photo conveys an emotion of sadness because this is a perfect example of how many solders were deprived of a proper burial in their own country.
