The Arctic
Antarctica is the southern most continent in the world and totaling 5.4 million sq mi, it is considered to be the fifth largest continent as well. The only human activity in Antarctica is done by scientist stationed there for research, this is due to the unbelievably harsh cold that the continent dwells in. Ice covers 98% of the continent and with only 8 inches of rain a year it is considered to be a desert...just cold. The continent is mainly inhabited by seals, penguins, nematoads, tardigrades, bacteria and few plants; however, the regions with plants are considered to be tundras.
