Being Female- UTI's are more common in women, some experience more than one infection. Women have a shorter urethra then men, cuts down the travel of bacteria to reach the bladder.
Being sexually active- sexually active women tend to have more UTI's then non-sexually active women.
Certain types of birtn control- women who use diaphragms or spermicidal agents are at higher risks
