Odyssey Book 1: The Gods
In the Odyssey the gods play a large role in the lives of the characters. The gods are often prayed to, worshiped, and given sacrifices to. The gods sometimes will return their prayers and rituals and protect them. However, if you get on a god's bad side the odds are most likely not in your favor. Just look at Odysseus himself. He is a perfect example of not what to do. Ever since he stabbed Polyphemus in the eye, Odysseus has failed to make it back to his homeland. This is mainly due to the handiwork of none other than the great Poseidon himself. Now you must be thinking "Big deal right? Who cares about having your journey home delayed a bit." Well I would say it was more as if Odysseus' trip was postponed. Postponed for 20 years!!! And this is all because a man got on a god's bad side. But to sum it up her is some simple advice. DO NOT get on a god's bad side.
