So why did the Mayans collapsed? Research and reasoning has proven that a civilization who predicted the world would end in 2012 and was clearly wrong became too dumb for its own good. Such stupidity could not keep up with their political, agricultural and economic demands, so they all died and the civilization collapsed.
Demise
Actually they just didn't have room on the rock they made their calendar on. Bad jokes aside, it is unknown exactly why the civilization collapsed, but many theories have been brought up. A study has suggested that there was a drought which caused the Mayans to abandon their cities. This was aided by the Mayans cutting up trees to clear up large amounts of land for farming, and a decrease in quality of crops. Trade routes began to rely mor on sea as a result and not on land, which was necessary for the civilization, which contributing to the abandonment of the cities. Large mammals which the Mayans relied on declined.
