-Since 2000 Joan has taught at an Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA

- In 2004 she was honored with a retrospective at the Queens Museum of Art in New York. Titled Joan Jonas Five Works.

- 2005Jonas presented aisle-specific, five channel video. Installation at Dia; titled The Shape, The Secent, and The Feel of Things

-2015 Jonas was selected to represent the United States in the 56th Venice Biennale.
