Joan Jonas

- Born in New York(1936) & still resides there

- Jonas received her B.A in Art History from Mount Holyoke college.(1958)

- Joan studied sculpture at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and received an M.F.A. in Sculpture from Columbia university.(1965)

- Joan is also a major figure in video art and multi-media performancing artist.

- She has won many awards and in the mid-60s Jonas was a central figure in the performance art movement.
