Music

Each instrument assumes a specific role. Angolans use certain ones for certain traditional events. Ancient and modern from storytelling, folklore, music and dance to meetings and special gatherings, even healing rituals and in battle, as an instrument to communicate with soldiers or the enemy.

One of the most important instruments is the Marimba. Which resembles a wood xylophone, with different sizes of gourds attached. It's played with two wood sticks similar to drumsticks. It makes a sound all Angolans recognize.
