Punishments

Crime and punishment in both early and middle ages were very cure, strict, and most of all painful. Executioners were more than creative when it comes to any punishment they’re put in charge of,because of this there are many methods and ways punishment was handled with.
One very popular act of punishment was known as “the Judas cradle”. Victims were undressed and were seated on a pyramid-shaped seat with the point inserted in his or her private areas while heavy weights tied to either arms, legs,or both. This act takes more time than most causing the victim to die in a horrible fashion, and would eventually be split into two parts down the middle.
Another popular way of punishment was saw torture,a very self explanatory subject but with more of a twist. Armed with bigger than averaged saws, executioners would place victims in many different positions depending on where they were to be cut. For example if he or she were to be cut down the middle they were hang upside down.
One way of torture that’s both unique and different from most is “rat torture”. Starving and hungry rat(s) would be placed in a cage-like metal box strapped onto the victim’s chest after being tied onto a flat surface(usually a wooden bed). Determined to escape the rat(s) would dig and burrow itself into his or her body. This method would take hours, possibly even days the most, but at the end of it all the victim would always die a gruesome death.
