Malware financial impact

An online eCommerce retailer with “true” annual sales of $500M that has a moderate infection rate of 13% will lose $43M in sales, taking them down to “recognized” sales of $457M. Said another way, if this company makes no other changes to the company beside the addition of BrandLock’s security measures, sales will go up almost instantly to $500M.

BrandLock - Browser-based Fraud Protection

By BlackInc007

Although the BrandLock client-base represents a diverse group of industries and company types – ranging from a consumer research firm to a high transaction ecommerce retailer – we are seeing significant detractors from revenue, manifesting in two types of theft: 1) Diversion of the Sales Pipeline 2) Deterioration in Sales Conversions. Malware theft is akin to someone syphoning your cars gas when it is are parked at home in your garage; given that the gas thank is not transparent, you have no idea the theft happened, ultimately leaving you stranded in the middle of the eCommerce Highway during rush hour.
