Resolution

The confederates hold strong defensive positions at Marye's Heights and decimate the battlefield with rifle fire and artillery. President Abraham Lincoln called Burnside's army back and removes him from command a few weeks later. The Union army lost about 13,300 troops in total. 2/3s of this was from Mayer Heights. The Confederates achieved a decisive victory.
