Technology can be a friend or foe

- Albert has a machine that acts as a conscience called his logic machine, it helps him makes a decision and is a friend to him. "Albert had learned one lesson from his logic machine: never make anything that you can't unmake"(159).

- Albert also makes a machine that is a foe, it is a replica of himself. The machine turns on him and steals the girl of his dreams, so he destroys it.
