He is said to have been a Roman army officer

He publicly denounced the worship of idols

For that, He was then racked, beaten, dragged through the streets, and thrown into prison

There he converted three prison guards who were later beheaded

He later kicked an idol of Jupiter and had he leg cut off then was crushed by a millstone
