Wernher Von Braun was the Germans top rocketry scientist. When he was young he read a book by a previous scientist called Oberth about space and Von Braun was very intrigued. He then attended the university of Berlin where he got to work with Oberth for several years. When the nazi party started taking over most of Germany that's when Von Braun was finally noticed for his brilliance.  One of Braun's colleagues arranged a research grant for Braun. Von Braun then was given a testing site for his latest solid fuel rocket blueprints. Von Braun then wrote his thesis Experimental Solution to the Problem of the Liquid propellant Rocket thats when the idea of the liquid propelled V1 rocket or the flying Bomb started. By November 1934 Von Braun and his colleagues had built 2 successful rockets that went as high as 3.5 kilometers high.
