Alcohol is a drug, of course. By definition, a psychoactive drug chemically changes perception, thinking, and emotionality. That is why people under the influence have a greater risk of being involved in sexual assault.

~25 percent of American women have experienced sexual assault, including acquaintance rape 


~over 50 percent of those cases involve alcohol consumption by the perpetrator, victim, or both
