When was Ebola first diagnosed?

I already answered this in the beginning of this project in the history of ebola, but it was first discovered in June of 1976 in Sudan.

To test people for ebola they look at symptoms, and if they have the symptoms then they run a PCR test which looks for genetic material from the virus to figure out if you have it or not.
