The cover slide image was selected as a reference to a quote from Steve Jobs who likened the computer as a bicycle for our minds.


The efficiency with which humans move via walking or jogging is rather pedestrian (pun intended). When ranked against other species, we are middling.

Bicycle for our minds

However, when you consider a human on a bicycle, the efficiency is off the charts.


Computers similarly enable the human mind to be even more efficient and capable of even greater things. Hence, the comparison.


I find Swift, compared to Objective-C, to be a more sophisticated and elegant tool. Hence, the suited gentleman holding what I assume to be a fine tea riding through Oxford.
