Spruce Needle

This spruce needle came from a spruce tree. Spruce needles are very long and thin. They can grow from 1-11 inches long. They are bundled in groups of 2-5. They all connect at the same point where they attach to the branch. Spruce trees grow in northern temperate regions. In the picture on the previous slide, you can identify the photosynthesizing cells(chloroplasts) and a few epidermal cells.
