When you have two point on the graph you find the rise and the run. And put the rise over the run and simplify if necessary to get the slope. The rise is the vertical change (in red in picture to left) and the run is the horizontal change (in green.)
How do you find slope?
What is slope?
Slope is the number that represent the steepness of a line. The slope is a ratio of vertical change to horizontal also know as y over x.
You find slope in an equation by what M is. Any linear function can be expressed by any equation in from Y=mx+b and m is the slope.
When you are given two points on a graph you find the slope by subtracting the y from the first point from the y of the second point and do the same with the x's. Put the difference over the differences in the x's and simplify.
